Tired of corruption Letter Published in Gulf News,UAE On August 27,011
Arundhati Roy has every right to express her views on the Anna Hazare scenario. However, criticising the rights of the common people is unacceptable. My point is that the United Progressive Alliance government has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people during the elections. After seeing the entire country protesting against corruption I believe that the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should step down. People are tired of seeing corruption everywhere. It seems that none of the political parties are interested in helping the people in India — they are only interested in wealth. There is no consciousness and will to serve the people of the nation. It has been more than four decades and this bill is still not taken by the Parliament. I am confident that the government will only do something if the entire nation’s voice is heard. As a common man of this country I expect a peaceful day-to-day life without any humiliation from the administration.
