Letter Published in India Abroad USA on Mar 18  A development budget   Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s federal Budget for 2016-17 was nicely elaborated. There are major plus points in his Budget, like the focus on rural infrastructure, SC/ST development allocation, more taxes on luxury cars and tobacco products, and tax clarifications for start-ups. The drawbacks include ignoring how to check inflation, a focus on senior citizens deposit interest rate and immediate attention to employment for youth.
