Small Story 508.
A Blessed Beginning at Sri Ranga
Small Story 508 – Sri Ranga Restaurant Encounter
Srikanth came to the newly opened Sri Ranga Restaurant to meet his friend Sugandhi. They were collegemates and had recently secured appointments in a leading UK-based audit firm at its Bengaluru office, with excellent perks.
As Srikanth saw Sugandhi, he smiled—he had always admired her pleasant and gracious smile.
“Hey, waiting for a long time?” he asked.
Sugandhi shook her head. “No, I just came a few minutes ago and took these seats.”
They ordered their favourite masala dosa. The restaurant had received great reviews from friends, and they were eager to taste it.
Sugandhi was wearing a blue saree—Srikanth’s favourite colour—while Srikanth wore a blue shirt, which Sugandhi loved. They had been friends for more than six years and had always wished to marry once they were settled in good careers. Fortune smiled on them; both had secured excellent jobs and decided to fix their wedding plans that very day, with their parents’ approval.
Both were the only children in their respective families, which were well-respected and supportive of their wishes. At 26 and 25, Srikanth and Sugandhi felt they were truly made for each other.
Sugandhi said softly, “As per our astrologer, July 3rd is an auspicious day for our wedding.”
“That’s wonderful,” Srikanth replied. “I’ll inform my parents. We still have three months.”
Sugandhi added, “One thing—your family should visit the Srirangam temple with us before the wedding. My mother prayed there and feels we must seek blessings for us.”
Srikanth smiled. “Great. My parents are also devotees of that sacred temple. We’ll take the blessings and get married in July.”
After spending thirty happy minutes together, they left the restaurant with the lingering taste of delicious food and joyful hearts. Sometimes life flows easily, and everything falls into place just as expected. Srikanth and Sugandhi were truly blessed—the Sri Ranga Restaurant meeting gently leading them toward the divine blessings of Srirangam and a beautiful life together.
